PC Games Getting Squeezed off the Shelves

Online distribution is the way forward for PC games. Unfortunately for us, we all know what the problem with that is in SA.

Isn't there a buyer subsidy on console games. Consoles are sold at a loss or at cost and the companies make their money purely on the games?

I know Sony's making quite a loss on the PS3, not sure about the others but I think probably to a lesser extent. That's why they all measure the "attach rate", i.e. the number of games sold per console sold, because that's where the money is. It also probably explains why they're so desperate to prevent piracy.

Hi,

I must admit that I have noticed a slight increase in console games over PC but in my opinion it's based on X-Box 360, PS2 and PS3 now all being available at once when before it was pretty much all PS2 gear in the console sections.

To be honest I'm not worried though.

Best wishes
