PC Graphics Card help

gt210, gt 710 or even if you can find an OLD HD5450 look for something with the lowest power usage since you only really using it as a display adapter and no real processing.

Why ? I litterally just need a medium to connect via HDMI. No process power needed as far as I'm aware/

If you want to decode H265 (HEVC), then you'll need a GT970 or newer.
It might be worth while to go for something more recent, unless your CPU is capable of handling H265 decoding.

System specs. Old I know

32 but I know

I got a geforce 710 for the same reason, it has no fan so no noise and it displays 1920x1080 for hours on end with no problems. I have almost the same system as that one, I just installed windows 10 because trying to get windows 7 updates to download (needed for kodi) was impossible.

Then changed a few things so I boot straight into Kodi, and disabled all updates and start up programs (including windows defender) to speed things up.

Great streaming card that plays everything on kodi/exodus with no noise.

Yes, havent looked into plex tbh. Will check it out

Network cables and a hub would be all you need if your TV has the Plex app already and you're not set on moving your PC to the lounge.

If your Plex app on TV doesn't directplay all files AND your PC isn't strong enough to manage transcoding when needed, you will need a graphics card if you go with your PC attached directly to the TV. Or a CPU upgrade if you go the network route.

I have a Juniper switch at home that I can use for cabling. PC only has a 100mb card though, will this be okay ?

100mb is plenty for anything up to 4k blu-ray...your PC and TV would probably choke on those earlier than your network so bit of a non-issue.
