Hi All.

I bought a new GPU for my computer and installed it and checked the seating on the motherboard, when powering on the PC, the computer stays on the BIOS logo splash screen for a few minutes and then goes blank. I am unable to enter the BIOS and windows does not load.

If I remove the GPU and boot off the integrated GPU then the computer boots up fine.

Has anyone experienced this issue before?

Power supply not providing enough to drive the graphics card?

I have had this issue where it was some kind of incompatibility between the graphics card and motherboard.
Like the KFA2 GeForce 210 (that requires no external power) graphics cards (yes - I tried multiple cards of the same model) didn't work in my 1 colleague's PC, who had a PC with a Sandy Bridge motherboard, but it did work in another PC.

Typically you can get this issue if the graphics card's external power (via 6 or 8-pin PEG) isn't connected or if it cannot get enough power from the PSU.

Could you perhaps tell us what the brand and model numbers are of your PSU, graphics card and motherboard? And perhaps also include your BIOS version number.

Yeah agreed with Pada, it's either a power issue (you forgot to connect the external connector/not enough power) or it's a compatibility issue and your BIOS needs to be updated or the graphics card is faulty.

Busy upgrading the BIOS and hopefully it should solve the issue.

The specs of the PC are as follows:

Intel Motherboard: BLKDH77EB
GIGABYTE® SUPERB 620W Power Supply
8 GB RAM
1 * 2TB SATA HDD
Intel® Core™ i7 3770 - 3.40GHz Quad Core
DVD-ROM.

Will update if the BIOS is the issue shortly.

Success, The BIOS upgrade has solved the issue. Thanks for all the help people.
