PC HANGS- opening Explorer/My Computer

When I open Windows Explorer or My Computer...

As I open it - it hangs for about 35 seconds then I can read all my drives etc.

Do you think its to do with reading my 4gig usb flash drive attached or something else.

I had the same thing ... turned out to be my DVD Writer that was playing up.

But it could be any drive listed (HDD, USB, DVD etc) Take out each one to localise the problem

I've had these issues with multiple mapped drives as well. If it can't reach 1 or more it hangs while trying.

Wow.... Chances are its to do with reading of a certain drive... disconnect all and test by starting up with one at a time, until it freezes.
And as Dolby said, mapped drives can cause issues....

I have been having problems recently as well.

This is on Vista, what OS are you using?

I hope its not a bug or something or a fix they introdcued which broke it.
