Hey guys

I've come across an old (well not really old, just unused) PC which I think I'm goign to turn into some sort of HTPC.

If I connect the graphics card (9600GT) to the TV via HDMI would it send the audio through to the TV as well or would I have to connect the onboard sound to the home theatre receiver?

Yep, should work, provided you still have the SPDIF adapter that came with your 9600GT.

Check you motherboard manual to get info on connecting the audio pin to the audio in on the graphics card. You will need that little black/red cable that should have come with the card. If you don't have it, find old USB header cables and use it to make a cable. Make sure that HDMI with audio is selected in the Nvidia control panel.

Also just make sure the little black SPDIF cable doesn't get caught in your GPU's fan. Don't ask how I know this :P
