PC Help: Windows 7 Keeps Booting Into Start Up Repair

Worst case scenario is I put the hard drive in my pc, copy all her data to my PC, fresh install of Windows 7 on her PC then copy all her data back. This seems like a lot of work though, so trying to avoid it. Also, she uses VIP Payroll software, so not sure how that will affect my plans.

Starting fresh as per above would probably end up being quicker than trying to find the problem.

I suggest imaging her entire HDD in order to make sure you have backed up all her data.

Before you do that you might want to check if her HDD has no issues with bad sectors etc.

Use harddisk sentinel and check the hdd. From there its always better to do a reload.

have you tried the commands fixmbr and fixboot?
