Hi everyone,
I'll be renovating my home soon (gutting downstairs and adding an upper level) and looking for advice or guidance on the best wiring solution for my pc to home theatre/big screen gaming setup - any advice or direction would be hugely appreciated.
Bit of background: Right now I currently have a NAD T478 AV receiver in my TV Room which connects my Samsung Smart TV and Roku 3 box. The Roku 3 is connected wirelessly to my router. The router sits in the room next door, along with my Home theater / Gaming PC (about 10 meters away). I stream my local content wirelessly via Plex.
When I feel like lounging on the couch for a bit of PC gaming time on my TV , I unroll an HDMI cable connected to the AV Receiver, and connect it to my PC in the other room, as well as running a USB cable from the PC for the xbox gamepad. As you can imagine, bit of a wired mess but gets the job done.
With the upcoming renovation, my PC and router will be situated on the upper level of the house, and my TV will be in the lounge situated downstairs. The renovation is the perfect opportunity to create a home theatre wall hub with different connections to the PC room (network cable, HDMI, USB etc), but I have no idea what's required or what I should research.
Any advice from anyone who's done this before around what cables to use / installation tips etc, or know any individual/company that specializes in this kind of thing?
Thanks!
