PC IS FREAKING ME OUT!!

I live also near the coast, had problems with humidity. I got silica packs and never had problems again. I put them into the dvd recorder, tv, basically everything electronic.

How long do these last? I try to keep them whenever I buy something new and they come in the box. How can you tell if the silica is 'full/saturated'?

For us misers, will rice work?

+1 Works a charm at coastal regions. You get big one's when you buy a pc case. (Well most of the time). Maybe ask at a local pc shop if they can spare you some.

I have had a very similar problem with static issues in a dusty PC. Simply cleaning the PC out with an air-hose fixed the problem.

Try Proline computers. They have Intel CPUs but the board packs up. On various computers I've lost main board, serial port packed up, RAM vrekked, USB port died, etc. They are entry level PCs and they run 24/7 so maybe it's to be expected.

Try drying them out in a warm oven. Note warm. not grill

Right. So stay away from those then...........

Yep, those are MSI boards. I stay well away after been screwed over with MSI warranty issues.
