Hi pp

I'm finding this to be very wierd and I dunno what could be causing it..... My PC has been acting up lately and what happens is i start my pc up and i log into windows but a few minutes later the PC "lags" like u see it in a game... it happens for split seconds at a time and this happens even when i log off windows and im just sitting in the user accounts section..... If anyone has some idea on how to fix this pls lemme know... I'm not sure whether its a hardware issue or what but im stuck now...

thanks ;)

First thing check in task manager (alt ctr del) if any processes are using unusually high amounts of memory or cpu. Also if it is a windows problem mabe a windows repair should sort the problem out.

Ok well I was thinking of reinstalling windows... but first I would like to maybe narrow down to what is causing the issue :) and yeh the main thing thats using up alot of memory is MsMpEng (This is Forefront) but that never used to use up so much before... I also checked my registry and found no faults... I checked my startup programs and I did find a Worm as apart of my startup in msconfig but nothing in the registry... ummmm as for PC specs:

ASUS P5B Mobo
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6ghz
2.5gig Ram
Geforce 8800 GTS 320mb
Hyper TX2 Cooler

Lemme know if there is anything im missin :)

Could it be perceived performance? You know, like when you drive a 400HP car... eventually you going to think it is slow.
