PC Keeps restarting during XP RE-Installation

Anyone online? i need urgent assistance with windows xp reinstall, windows says partition is not correct. i made it FAT32? I also tried NTFS? How to do this with Hiren Boot cd? plz help!!!

During the installation, when preparing the hdd, you get an option to delete the partition (by pressing D) and then you can format it again, NTFS prefered. Try this maybe?

Hiren boot cd is good, but you have to be IT literate(no offense) to us it or get a "how to" guide on the net for what you want to do. I don't know why these guys told you to download it though as it's not the easiest utility to use, if you don't know what you are doing(no offense again).

Did you get all your data & mail off?

You can use GParted to delete, create & format partitions/disks. Use NTFS!

Wanted to say the same thing but decided to rather keep quiet.

Hi everyone!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!! I GOT IT RIGHT?????!!! THank you so much to everyone who contributed to this fantastic event!! I saved all my info - including data, documents, EMAIL, and everything else.

With regard to partition issue - I disabled the 500gig hard drive in the BIOS, windows then allowed me to use the current partition on C to load and install windows. Did anti virus scans, defrags, and most other tools I could find, and all seems in order.

Running purely on COFFEE - got to bed at 3;30......now trying to stay awake at work and struggling

THank you to Ponder, and Sharkbait, AStroturf, Venemous, and everyone else!!!!!! Also to the poor sole that I disturbed at 2 this morning who was unlucky enough to be online while I was desperate - Thank you as well

Really you guys are great.....and Hiren Boot CD not too difficult to use, you must just read all options properly and not jump into anything too quickly......

THank you :-) THank u :-) THank you :-)

Glad to hear you got all your data off and everything back to working order.
