PC Link Computers... What a scam

I bought a 6TB HDD from PC Link Computers on 10 Jan 2022.
Received it on 17 Jan 2022.
Reported it being faulty on 18 Jan 2022.
They collected it on 21 Jan 2022.

I've yet to receive any feedback regarding replacement or refund.
They simply pocket the money and either ignore you when you email them or say they'll follow up and revert back to you, which they never do.

How is this place still running?
How are there articles on MyBroadband exposing shady business practices by Evetech but this place is far more shady?
I mean, just look at the complaints on HelloPeter. It's not an isolated incident.

As recent as 15 March 2022:

This place needs to shut down and investigated
The point it, how can we jointly get SAPS to investigate and lock them?? Surely it is a Cybercrime? I bought a hybrid inverter in February, and all I had ( When they did reply) was empty promises and excuses but no inverter. When I try to contact them no it is the sound of silence....

I guess it depends on your definition of credible.

Evetech on MyBB
Credible in my definition means that I have never experienced any bad after sales support or had a problem purchasing from their online shop and have been buying from them for years already.

I understand that I might count under the lucky few people who have a good experience buying from Evetech and there are lots of bad reviews from their other customers online but since I still enjoy a good experience shopping from them, I will continue buying from them.

Check out this review on @hellopetercom Excellent support from Evetech on PSU RMA

You are indeed one of the lucky ones, for every positive post there are 10x negative ones of them not covering warranty, giving people the run around for months, trying to make deductions from refunds for faulty hardware or just flat out refusing to refund people on out of box failures.

Carbonite forums went nuclear on Evetech for a reason, that didn't just come out of nowhere, even with PC Link there was a positive experience posted a month before they ran away with peoples money.

While your experience went well and that's awesome I hope they continue to go well as I hate seeing people get screwed but buyers need to be aware that with Evetech, that discount comes with significant risk and sometimes the saving is so small vs other credible shops that they would be better off elsewhere.

Not ranting at you, so apologies if it seems that way but Evetech business practices are horrific and I feel like calling them credible in the general sense is being very generous.

I had to get a lawyer involved in order to get a refund on a faulty laptop

Seems we have to start a thread each time we buy want to buy somewhere. It's getting rough out there.
I learned the hard way. Recently I bought something from Dreamware Tech and first asked on here if they are legit. My order went smoothly with them and I had it the next day. But it sucks that we live in times that you have to ask first if a retailer is legit.

I've only been buying computer hardware from Amazon.com since about 10 years ago.
Works out roughly the same or as in most cases actually cheaper and I can get exactly the part I want.
Not just what the local business decided to stock.

I only started not buying local because the options here are too limited.
You only get to buy what Rectron, Mustek, etc. want to stock.
And they only stock brands that they have a history with because they get cheap deals on them.
