Hiya ;)

I've got a 939 AMD 3000+, about 2 years old.

Problem is, it's forgetting what time it is. It's normally on 24/7 so I don't want to give the CMOS battery the blame.

Is there anything I could check? Do you know of a local time server I could use to configure the time synchronizing to it?

Thanks

why not use the os internet syncro.

I'm using that, but if I use the default time server, it doesn't update, so I have to specify one, I think it's nst.gov or something, it's in the Vista list.

I was wondering if there was a local time server?

you can use any internet time server you want as the time offset to your location is calculated automagically via your regional settings in control panel (or whatever they renamed it to now in vista)

when you say it is losing time...is it seconds here and there, or a few hours? or a constant offset?

Sounds like time synchronizing is your problem, it's probably being synced to the incorrect time (does it always end up the same amount of time before or after the time you want). Have you tried disabling things like the "Windows Time" service and anything else that might be messing with it.

Time syncing is useless to the normal user, and just wastes recourses.
