Hi

My Hitachi Deskstar 250gb just doesn't seem to be detected by my pc anymore. Ive tried swapping SATA ports, power connections, everything that I can think of to try get my pc to detect it. Any ideas on what else I could try?

LOL @ Fubar.

Has your drive got a jumper on it or not - if it has a jumper double check that the jumper has not come loose or that it is in the correct position.

Go into computer manager. how to get there: right click on my computer and click manage. Then if you there go to disk manage and now you can assign a letter to the drive.

Is the drive spinning when pc is on.

I know I have had this problem before and I solved it by trial and error, just can't remember my final solution...

I believe that I solved it by downloading new motherboard and SATA drivers and making sure that the drive actually had a partition set up on it otherwise it didn't show up in My Computer.

As it worked before, I think you have been to some bad sites that placed a programme that makes your computer not see the HD. Not even F5 or F8 or F12 on bootup will work to go to Safe Mode.
You will have to reinstall windows and loose all your data.
That's my experience.

Stay away from porn. I have learned the hard way. "No HD found" is typical of porn sites.
If you have to, go to thehun only.
