I have an old P3 that I keep around to just mess around with and experiment on.
But now tonight while I was messing around on it, it suddenly just stopped working. I switched it off to put in a hard drive and when I switched it back on nothing would display. It was working fine 5 minutes before.

So I disconnected the hard drive thinking it was that, but still nothing. No boot up bios will display but the fans start turning and the lights come on on the mb. I checked all the cables are in correctly. Earlier the evening I noticed the CPU fan was having a bit of difficulty. Could it perhaps of stopped and fried the CPU? It would occasionally stop but then start again.

Just trying work out the different possibilities that could of gone wrong as I was having fun messing around on it lol

Thanks

(What day is rubbish collection day 'round your way?)

Have you popped out the battery and reset the Bios? You're hinting, like I'm thinking, it's the psu.

Nevermind lol. I tried it this morning again and it just worked strangely. Have no idea why. It wouldn't be the psu as everything spun up and the lights came on.
Thanks though
