Hi

Could anyone help me with the following error.

When I start my desktop the motherboard manufacturer screen comes up but after that the computers freezes and nothing happens...

Weird part is sometimes the PC works fine and im able to log into windows but after a while the PC freezes and well when I restart it the above mentioned problem occurs.

Is this a heat problem? Motherboard or CPU?

Motherboard is my guess. Happened to me too a while back and it was the South (or North, can't remember) Bridge on the mobo that gave problems.
Could actually be a number of other stuff also, but let's see what the other (more experienced) people have to say ;)

Well if manufacturing screens means the full screen logo of the MB then I would suggest turning it off. Check the POST screen. After it scans the ram it checks the HDDs. So my guess is it might either be a faulty HDD or the MB itself. Run Seagate Seatools and do a full scan. It takes under an hour. Because this only happens sometimes only its a bit more difficult to get the actual cause.

have you installed the correct chipset drivers for your mobo?
