Hi guys,

I was looking at these guys and it looks like you can buy 1GB once off that lasts the month, no contracts. I wanna download Ubuntu 7.04, which is 699mb or something. Are these guys any good?

you could get an IS local only account and point your browser to ftp.is.co.za

IS account would be cheaper and all the major Linux distros are on local ftp sites.
However an even cheaper option is to find a local Freedom Toaster and take your own CDs and burn them. That way you only pay for the blanks.
Personally I use a 10GB local-only account from OpenWeb (R69) and download the distros because it's more convenient (I live in the sticks).

Why don't you get Ubuntu 7.10 beta, it's much improved. Or wait for the final release, mid October i think.

The freedom toaster in PE is very outdated, when I looked a month ago it still had Ubuntu 6.06, Open Office 2.0 etc.

why don't you just order a CD.. would be cheaper then adsl account and adsl line rental.

I have played with the new ubuntu and i really recommend waiting for 7.10 its worth the wait. :D

Silv3rback where are you? i can maybe give you a copy

Sorry dude, I posted and then I had to lock up at work and things. I download Ubuntu 7.0.4 the other night from the works connection, we had cap left over and it went pretty fast with 4mbps line goodness:D
