Hi,

I play battlefield BC2 and get the sound loop pc crash/hang  , i tried several fixes but no luck yet. I am running a Asus p7h55D-m pro mb. The last fix would be to disable the on-board Realtek sound and buy a pci or external sound card.

I have zero experience with add-on sound cards, from memory creative always seemed good.

I was thinking of getting a R100 to R200 priced card. Is it worth it spending more money or are there no benefit playing games on a expensive card?

Any assistance appreciated.

could you please posts your computer specs ?

does the whole pc crash/hang ? or is it just the sound that sounds like it crashed while playing the game as normal ?

I have, i5 750, 2 x 2gb 1333 memory, win 7 64 bit, asus 5770 card.

The whole computer hangs with the sound that play in a loop, i have to hold in the power button to shut down...

This also the only game that this happens with...

yeah.. try updating your graphics drivers / directx drivers etc.
i dont think it can be your onboard sound..

reinstall the game? reinstall patches..

Try this:

Edit 'settings.ini' file found in C:\Users\"username"\Documents\BFBC2 with notepad, find line "DxVersion=auto", and change it to "DxVersion=9". Save

I have tried that, tried ver 9. ver 10 no diff. What is nice there is to increase your fov :)

I had a similar problem with CODMW2, turned out to be my 5870(Club3D). No problems with the new one, Sapphire.
