Hopefully someone can shed some light on this problem.

Shut down PC yesterday, when I went to re-boot, screen said that it was not connected. Took out GFX card and connected to MoBo GFX port, but still no luck. When power is connected to PC, MoBo beeps 3 times. There is no screen acitivity at all and I cannot access the BIOS to re-set it (have tried with the pins on the MoBo).

Has any-one had similar problems and what is the solution?

Normally when there is a problem with RAM on a pc it will give a repeated beeping, if your beeping is one long and 2 short ie beeeeeeeeep, beep beep then it is definately a VGA problem. when you plug it on to the mobo vga have you physically removed the gfx card because by putting in a gfx card it disables the on board gfx on a lot of mother boards.
i hope this sheds some light on your problem.

It gives me 3 beeps of the same length (is an Intel Tappen board).

I physically removed the GFX card, but it continued with the same problem. Will try re-seating the memory when I get back to the office.

well does your vga card need power connected to it?

i know my pc wont start and streams if i dont have power connected to the vga card

List of BIOS Beep codes says:

3 Beeps = Base 64K mem failure = Bad memory

So, guess you have to test it with other ram, otherwise it could be a BIOS setting. Set all ram timings and values to default and see if it works.
