I want to get a tablet for use when out the office.

However I need to ensure that certain files are exact copies on both my PC and the tablet.
For example:
My Outlook mail
Keepass (program that stores all my web user name / passwords)
Certain Office files

I am looking for a solution that ensures that the selected files on both devises are automatically synchronized to the latest version. When both devises are connected via WiFi

Can some one suggest such a solution?

BTW I have not decided what tablet to buy. So it may be powered by either Windows, Android or Apple.
My office PC is running Windows 7

Many thanks in advance

For file synchronisation you have a couple of services to choose from. Dropbox does a good job, free dropbox 2Gb. Microsoft OneDrive also does a good job free acc 7gb I think.Google drive also good. All you have to do is install the desktop version and mobile version of the service you fancy and then log into your acc on both, after that all files will be synced to latest version both ways.on the Pc youll have a special folder where you dump all the stuff you need synced.

Platform wise I'd advise going Android if you are not already deeply invested into the apple ecosystem, android is more flexible and open.

Emais are also not a problem you'd just sign into the mail app of the mobile device and your mails should sync down to it as well. If you have a POP account just ensure outlook is not set to immediately delete mail copies off the server otherwise you'll have problems. If its an Exchange account Activesync also syncs your outlook folder structure

Your best choice is use a Windows 8.1 Tablet/Windows Phone OS as all your requirements are built into the system, onedrive and Ms Office etc. Android is useless but might cost less.

Android does a perfect job of keeping my files in sync with my windows PC. Evernote, dropbox and onedrive FTW.

I have this kind of setup with Android/windows and works perfectly. No need to give into getting a windows tablet for this purpose

Android:FolderSync free or paid + Dropbox

Dropbox is a personal choice. FolderSync supports a wide range of cloud accounts.

Bonus: Install Dropbox folder sync on your Windows PC and you'll be able to sync files outside of your Dropbox folder using symbolic links.

I use this system for my campus stuff.

Campus resource website, download to -> Documents folder -> Dropbox Folder sync symbolic link -> Dropbox -> FolderSync scheduled sync -> Android tablet.

Windows 8.1 PC + Windows 8.1 Pro tablet

Everything will be in sync and all your desktop apps will run on the tablet as well.

My Dell Venue 8 Pro should be arriving a little later today :D

+++1 on this. There are NO better alternatives to this. Android might cost less but has more problems (Definitely NOT a Android fan).

+1 to Evernote and Dropbox. All I need. Starting to use Evernote less and less though as Dropbox is pretty much covering all my needs now. This is across Windows, Android and Apple.
The gazillion images in my image upload folder is giving me a headache though :/
