My office just went through a fire with extensive smoke damage on the pcs.
Insurance people came & took the pcs & monitors to clean but 2 monitors popped when they came back. What software can I use to run my pcs to test the hard drives & mobo to make sure it'll run without it burning up on me. I know prime 95 is mostly a cpu & memory test which doesn't effect the HD too much.

I guess copying big files back & forth will work but got to have someone manage that all day long which is not feasible. Need something automated at least.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

hey Bumzilla.

Google for Ultimate Boot CD and download the ISO (the light version will do) this bootable CD contains all the tools you're likely to need in order to test hardware, (ram, cpu, motherboard, hard drive) etc;

Hope this helps.

After our fire last year we had the PCs replaced. I justified it to the insurance; the PCs had been running on UPS and sucking hot smoke through them, and I told the insurance company that this would severely affect the life of the components, not to mention the effects of ash/smoke on mechanical bits like CD drives, fans, drives, etc.

thanks guys. I'll try these things when I get home. I've a mind to short out the HD & mobo when I get home..... cuz if 2 of my monitors popped, the pc won't last any longer either!
