Hi all

Went and got myself a new TV over the weekend along with an HDMI cable for my PC.

Trying to get my PC setup to work with my TV and cannot get it right, so I need some input from you.

I have a Nvidia GT 440 with HDMI output and a 42" Hisense HDTV

I changed the PC res to 1920 x 1080 to align with the HDTV, plugged the HDMI cables and expected some result.

Nothing changed on the TV and I have no idea where to go from here.

Looking around on the net, I seem to have done everything correctly, but still no joy.

Any ideas or suggestions for me ?

you got it on the right input channel?

Checked all 3 HDMI channels on the TV, nothing.

The Input Channel graphic also changes when it detects something plugged in and nothing was different on any of the HDMIs

Hmmm it should set the resolution automatically though.

I had a big struggle to get my cheap brand plasma working and i set something in the CCC for ati, have you fiddled with the settings on the nvidia drivers?

Does the tv have a blue port?

Did you tell the Graphic card driver to detect displays after you plugged it in?

Did same with samsung 46" tv.just plug and press one button on remote... works like a dream!!!!
there is no replacement for quality!
sorry guys.and gal

you can try duel screen setup just to do the fault finding..boot into pc monitor till you can get all the settings right and then switch to the tv only.

Strange ... I had my pc hooked up to my hisense 32" and it automatically picked it up. Even works fine with VGA only ...

Check that the HDMI output on the card settings is enabled?

Yup it worked way better than the plasma as well but i don't think this is a quality issue.

1. Check TV manual to confirm that ALL hdmi ports have the same resolution, no jokes.
2. Check on your PC and make sure it 2nd display is set to clone.
3. Make sure refresh rate on PC is withing TV spesifications.
4. Try auto detect.
5. Buy new tv....

I had the same issue. I have a 42" Mecer LCD hooked up to my PC with a DVI to HDMI cable. I had to go manually change the resolution and refresh rates because the Nvidia drivers failed to recognise my screen's default modes. Works like a dream now.

Thanks all

Few things I can try tonight then.

Will have to work out how to do this, but will give it a shot.

See above :)

Will try the VGA cable and see if that works fine to narrow down the issue.

Check that the HDMI output on the card settings is enabled?
See triple above :)

Might need to look at the refresh rates then, as I had set the res prior to plugging in.

tone down to 720P Is The TV 1080P if not it will not show a picture if the pc is set on 1080P
