PC133 SD RAM - where to find?

Got it to recognise 512MB now - much faster it is :)

Seems it was having issues with PC100 RAM and PC133 being in at the same time. And it only detects 256MB per slot, so I have 1 x 256 and 2 x 128 in there now.

Start-up time has been reduced from close to 5 mins, to about 90 seconds, which is pretty good, considering it's only a 733MHZ processor and a 16MB graphics card...:)

I have a bunch of 128's to swop for a few 256's - 512's

Got two old server machines to upgrade. ( and no budget for new ones )

Unfortunately 128's just not enough.

Happy to pay transport -- or can collect if in KZN ( DBN -- PMBG )

Might have some for you. Will just check if they are 256's and get back to you. (they're buried deep in my cupboards somewhere)

Aaah, this old thread. Somebody contacted me as a result of this post and I sent them a whole bunch of RAM in an overnight bag. They thanked me in advance, but I never got a confirmation that they got it or that it worked. Her name was Lynda I think. [email protected]

Lynda... hope the RAM worked for you. Would be nice to know if it did. :) I didn't expect anything in return, but hearing from you would have been a courtesy! ;)

not gonna lose any sleep over it though. :rolleyes:

just upgrade ffs, a new mobo and cpu isn't THAT expensive.

Erm, yes it is actually. Specially when people only want to use a PC as a word processor and other people have PC133 RAM lying around that they don't need.
 
I need a 256MB sdram stick for an old P3 laptop. I'm not a PC geek, so need some help. This is the specs I got from PC Wizard if it helps. If anyone has something please let me know. I'm currently running XP SP2 on it and it runs quite well for an old machine (600mhz cpu, 128mb ram). It's only when I have a few apps open that I have a problem, so I figured the extra ram might help.
