PC3200 RAM

My mate has the following mobo: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P4i45GV R5.0

She currently has a 128mb PC3200 chip in there (OUCH!)
She wants to upgrade to 512mb... Will a DDR400 chip work? I would assume the mobo will just drop the frequency to 333?

I only ask because it's near impossible to get 333/266 nowadays - well for an affordable price anyway...

I can confidently say that yes, it will just clock down to 333 ....... I know because I asked the same thing a while ago and that's what I was told

Will DDR2 RAM work in a DDR3 Slot? also just clocking down - or is it a totally different slot and won't even fit?

DDR400 in a DDR333 machine will work 99.99% of the time.
DDR2 in a DDR3 machine will work 0% of the time
