PCI SATA Card Boot

Hi,

I've installed a PCI Card to add extra SATA drives to my Debian install.

However, the machine wants to boot from the new drive and I don't see a way of prioritising the Boot so that it boots off the drive that has GRUB.

The PCI card's instructions require to boot up off the Windows XP CD and install the windows software which will (presumably) allow the PCI Card to be correctly configured.

Surely there's a way to do this in Linux?

What make and model card is it?

Are you able to see the drives in the BIOS? If your BIOS can't see the drives, then you can't choose that drive as first boot device.
So it is not a Linux problem, but rather a BIOS problem, if this is the case.

I appreciate that it's not specifically a Linux problem, but I'm hoping that Linux users have encountered the problem and have solved it.

The card doesn't have a name and the BIOS doesn't seem to have an option for it.

The machine appears to be trying to boot off the new drive. I just want it to boot off the old drive.

Hm. A thought. I'll connect the boot drive to the PCI card.

Face<-palm
