PCIe to PCI adapter

that will create one hella bottle neck. you may also have power issues, depending of the power draw of your PCIe card. Also, your card wont be able to fit in your case after that.

assuming its for a GFX card, maybe rather look at getting a native PCI card? Could be cheaper (time and money) and less hassles/frustrations in the end :)

Edit:
just looked up the bridge chip, its a PCIe single lane interface. even though the card has a 16x port, the card you plug in will be restricted to 1x lane due to the limitations of the bridge chip (and the legacy PCI architecture).

Incorrect. This turns a PCIe 16x into a standard PCI slot.

dont think so coz the link says "This adapter allows you to use your existing PCI-E 16x cards in the PCI slot of your old mother board."

so its the inverse of your statement :) it 'bridges' a PCI slot (on your mobo) to a PCIe device (the card you want to interface).
