I try to open a pdf file it says its corrupt. I can open it in Adobe reader.

If someone could help me get the file to a state that I can use I would appreciate it. Please send me a pm if you can help. It is a customer file so I dont want to attach it here.

Thank you all.

This hot on the heels of Adobe Reader falling at Pwn2Own? Yea right, someone else can try that. Also: SumatraPDF Reader.

It most probably didn't download/upload properly. Just ask for a resend from where you got it from. If it still doesn't work I don't think it will be recoverable.

Some easy steps might help you to handle with such error message in .pdf file...

Step 1
Open your favorite Web browser and click “File” from the toolbar.

Step 2
Click “Open” and then click “Browse” to find the PDF file on your hard drive. Select “All Files” from the Files drop-down menu and select the “PDF Filename” of the file you think is corrupted.

Step 3
Click “Open” and then click “OK.” If the file opens, then the server is the problem, not the file. If you get an error message, you can try to repair the file.

If these steps by any reason cant help you, you may visit next reliable resources...

Like OP mentioned, he can open the file in Acrobat Reader, so the file itself isn't corrupt.

My question is in which program are you trying to open "import" the pdf which gives the corrupt error?

I've had many instances where clients send my pdf files that I have to open in coreldraw which gives the corrupt file error, although you can still open the file in Adobe reader and Photoshop without any issues. In these cases I ask the client to "flatten" "remove all layers" from the pdf and resent.
