I read an article in the You magazine yesterday about a botched circumcision. Long story short (I can’t find a link) is that a woman’s 5 year old “needed” (nothing too serious, foreskin couldn’t retract as it should) a circumcision, she took him to a state hospital & they “burned off” his penis. It is hectic! I can’t imagine what that mother must be going through. How do you explain to your child why is he different to other boys? And what major emotional damage is that poor child going to suffer?
Horrid IMO. I wanted to circumcise my son when he was born but thank God, I changed my mind. I know what happened was “freak negligence” (not an accident, the doctor was negligent
) & not the norm but still. After much research I felt it better to “leave it as it is” and let it be his decision one day to be circumcised or not. It isn’t my place to make such a life changing / altering decision on behalf of my child.
