Pensioner help

There a different scale for maried and single . Now the question is this family income . Coz 10k = r400 on maried scale

Can you update your salary in the future if its lowered?

Agreed, and the problem is recurring. Most people don't cater properly for their retirement and the government giving out grants, old age pensions and the like makes the old people now reliant on the current working class. This is the same with parents relying on their children's money.

All you need is a retrenchment, less children or 1 of a million other different factors to crumble the system and leave everyone destitute. All these ideas are just borrowing tomorrows money today and someone, somewhere will come short (or already are).

Depends on the system. What should have happened is that the 10% of the "pension" taxes goes towards investments in the economy that generate more taxes, "forcing" people to invest in their own pension fund, then 40 years later they start getting the interest back on that force investment.

Of course that only works if you keep some of the taxes that it generated to pay out once they reach the pension age. It all depends on management.

Thanks for the help so far.
Will he get the full grant?

I think he might, especially if he has a medical aid and the deductions can be seen on his bank statement. Best to go to the SASSA office and get the process started.
