I have finally got around to dealing with & getting rid of my dad hoard of stuff.

1st it was the outlandish sound systems that knew no bounds.
Then years of yachting equipment.

Now I am going through boxes of other things.
I stumbled upon a box of cameras (& equip)
Amongst the stuff is a Pentax Auto 110. I had never seen this thing before, tiny, still in it's box with all the bits & pieces, lenses & flash it came with.
It looks like it has never even been used.

Has anyone here played around with one of these.
I'm rather curious !

Well, it is a 35mm still camera from the early 1990s. You have to focus the camera manually, but the exposure is automatic. By now the battery will be flat, so you might replace that as you don't want it to leak

Seeing it is pristine condition, with the box (do you have the manual?) I would say it would fetch, to a collector on auction, at least R2500, maybe more. Specialist camera auction houses in London are the place for this

btw: Has all the audio stuff gone?

It uses Kodak's 110 film cartridges

yea, the manual & other stuff is all together with the camera.

the audio - someone took the duntech speakers for R70k & the rest went to someone else for R30k
the duntech's are going to dbn - the buggers weigh in at around 100kg each if i recall - not a one man job to be moving them around.

The yachting stuff has been interesting tho.
There was an unused outboard tohatsu motor - the original made by the company.
Tohatsu japan (& usa) were eager to get their hands on it. Japan took it (i guess to put in a showroom of sorts over there).
They did a deal where they would "pay" by means of a swap for new 75hp motor & credit the local agent. Local agent then paid for it locally.

I have unearthed a sextant from the 40's made by hughs & son - london, in its mahogany box with all the bits & pieces like new - god knows how people managed with those things !

Also an air rifle I don't quite know how to dispose of.
Maybe dump it in the sea !

90's? Really?

No. This camera is from the early 80's. I doubt you'll hit R2,500 for it at an auction. They don't manufacture film cartridges for this camera anymore. If you find the right collector, you might get R1,000 max. Seeing as you have some lenses Grant, you might get a bit more $, but I doubt it.

i think it is from the late 70s early 80s.
definitely takes the 110 film cartridge.

Spoke to someone from camera clinic & another from tothills, both confirmed the film is being made again & is being sold locally by a crowd in the foreshore area.
Forgot their name, it was something like a letter followed by a word (i know that sounds dumb, but cant think of another way to explain it, think of a name like xPhoto or something)
