Pentium 5 and 6

if this has been covered already... sorry but has anyone heard about the availablility of pentium V. According to this website... pentium V was here since january 2004. I am still using p3...:D how true was this...

I think trawling the web for inaccurate 2 year old articles (which were speculating on the future of an industry which doesnt know where it will be in 3 months time) is a bit sad.

But, lets for the sake of argument extrapolate on the codename

p4=willamette
lets assume the slated p5 was northwood
lets assume the slated p6 wouldve been prescott

see? Just cause they didnt change the names doesnt mean it doesnt exist? :-)
 
Intel...

I think intel don't want to use the P5 term because they were sued when they claimed the p4 was faster than the p3.

Thus is they bring out a p5 then the p4 ee will kick ass and then they cannot claim p5 is faster the p4.

far to technical, so just buy an AMD:D
 
? X 2 - the 2 processors in the box with the lid saying Pentium 5 are a P3 and a P2 - O I get it
3+2= 5
