I`m considering letting my hair grow and since its an Arabic type curly,it would become like an Afro.

How does one deal with washing, maintenance and other factors?
Afros are high maintenance it seems...

Pics of my mini-Afro can be provided in pm on request

lol... is it like this man's hair:

Then you should be fine. That type of hair is nice if you wash it and then use some kind of 'curl definer' to prevent frizz, otherwise it's gonna look super messy.

Yep. Easy 'curl definer' can be plain old conditioner. Wash and condition your hair as you normally do. Towel dry and then add some conditioner in your hand and scrunch it through your hair. You can leave to air dry or blow dry it while scrunching it. If you want, you only have to wash your hair every second day. On the day after you wash your hair, you can just wet your hands and run it through your hair. Touch up with conditioner or curl definer if you need to.

/Hair advice on mybb...what next? :D

Yeah conditioner can work but it can feel a bit greasy which is not nice. Paul Mitchell I think make an awesome leave in conditioner which is good for all hair types, but you also get a specific curl definer stuff which is probably better.

My hair is quite dry and abused....I`ve never used conditioner before...Usually I use shower gel, occasionally head and shoulders
Soon these ladies will ask for a "Beauty" sub-forum.

I use conditioner, doesn't feel greasy at all. Once your hair's dried into curls, you run your fingers through and break up the stiffness the conditioner leaves. The leave in conditioner doesn't always give your curls definition. I haven't tried a curl definer though, so as you say, that might be better.

Yeah shower gel as shampoo is not such a great idea. Head and shoulders I hated when I tried that it made my head itchy. If you don't have dandruff then I don't see the point.

Interesting, I hate leaving stuff in my hair, tried hair-gel,was utterly useless :D

Oh and stop abusing your hair that surely can't be that good

Hmm okay I`l change brands then...
hair abuse :erm:
I`ve brushed my hair 3 times in 2 years.
I`ve been to the barber 4 times
I`ve never used conditioner
I rarely wear hats and stuff
does that count as hair abuse?

Clicks has some good anti frizz sprays, John Frieda is not to pricey.
All have anti frizz creams, just to calm the locks a bit :)
