Eyebrows were raised when Barca appointed the young Pep as their coach.

Months down the line he is being compared to the greatest managers of all time.

In his first season in charge of Barca he has got the club in a position to win the treble.

Barcelona are in the Cope Del Ray final, they are leading La Liga and are in the quarters of the Champions League.

If he can do this with the team in their first season, imagine what he can accomplish in a few more seasons when he gets more experience.

Has any manager won the double or treble in their debut season?

Most manager don't get that type of squad to manage in their first season. Well done to Pep but a lot has to do with the players he has and messi actually staying fit this season.

Ditto.

Also reckon it's too early to compare him to some of the greatest managers of all time. Heck, even Mourinho is not being compared to some the greatest managers of all time simply because he has so much time in front of him.

If he can revolutionize football like Rinus Michels, Fergie and (can't remember his name, dude who wont he World Cup with England back in '66) have done, then he might earn the accolade. Otherwise... nope!

Remember, you can have the worlds best players, it doesnt mean that they will automatically win.

The coach needs to make them play.

Yes but even if your the greatest tactician of all time you would still not win the double if you are at a club like lecce or burnley. You need the right players to implement your tactics.

Pep is going to be a great manager but lets not judge too fast. Lets see how he has fared after 5 or so years in the game.

Well Pep hasn't actually won anything yet has he? At the moment it's all if's, but's and maybe's mate.
I agree with Stefan though, he inherited a very talented team so t has to be taken into consideration.
I would also like to see what he does when he comes up against the World's great managers. No disrespect to to the other La Liga managers.

Gullit, Vialli, Rijkaard, Van Baste. All young managers that had so much promise then fizzled. The only one who stands apart form that group is Rijkaard who could yet be a great manager if he learns the lessons from his "fall from grace" at Barca. Though I reckon Pep is on the right path...

Well i think he is doing great so far. Of course he will still learn alot.

I dont think anybody knows the Barcelona system better than him.
