Stupid question - is there any reason why no one has mentioned the 7 inch tablet PEPstores is selling for R2299 yet?

I've held back on buying a tablet for home use waiting for one that fits three criterions:
1. It must be sold by a major retail chain
2. It must be reasonably priced
3. It must have decent specifications.
This one seems to come quite close - I'm just curious about the battery life. I'm only looking for a home tablet my daughter can play with and I can use for couch surfing and ebook/comic reading.

Now the enterprise tablet I want for work... I'll wait a while on that one.

Looks interesting. Only thing that might bug me is using SlideMe rather than Android market.

I wouldn't...

Doesnt look half bad, better than Huawua Slim or whatever it's called.

I'll wait for devices running ICS and even then might wait for os beyond ICS.

We should be getting past android 2.2 by now, really~!

PEP stores is quite handy if you have a 4 year old and a 9 month old that like to play with their rabbit outside. In this case I needed a new 3g dongle asap and was in on-site in Thabazimbi. Turned out they were the only place in 130 km that had any.
So yes - one more thing to wrap your heads around - a budget clothing store in a small mining town in Limpopo province is selling a decently priced, decently specced tablet pc. Don't know who decided to do this marketing campaing, but if this is the shape of things to come...

Ignore the haters; most of them don't have kids who go through clothes faster than nerds go through hard drives. Also, as you pointed out, the dynamics of living in a smaller area is very different to living in a big metro.

any one tried one of these yet? It looks pretty good for the price.

There was a article posted here about it. Apparently it also works as a normal cell phone.

Aren't PEP stores the biggest dealer in Cell Phones in South Africa?

This tablet is aimed at the Mass Market not the Up Market

I'm sure I've seen this listed at R1999 but still wouldn't think it's a great deal, you could get a Samsung WiFi Galaxy for around R1899 from Dion Wired.

My phone has a better cpu, more ram and a newer version of android than this thing. FAIL
