Salary: About R30 000 CTC PM
SYNOPSIS:
To contribute to successful delivery of major and minor revisions for our customer applications to meet identified business needs; by way of implementation of Software Enhancement Requests (SER’s) and fixing bugs that may be identified within the application, to agreed timescales and quality expectations. There will also, by occasion, be a requirement for the jobholder to provide second line support for our application to internal Support Teams and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Matric
• Computer Science Degree or Diploma.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum 5 years software development experience.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of Visual Studio, C#, .NET and the Microsoft Development Stack.
• Web development technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript, MVC, WCF, etc.
• ORACLE 11g and SQL 2008 skills required
KEY PERFORMACE AREAS:
• Provide technical second line support.
• Ad hoc Support for other departmental teams. This may be internally, or even for customer and distributor sales / marketing materials. This may come through slide presentations, WEBinars, phone conferencing etc.
• Contribute to continual improvement within the Development Team by adhering to guidelines and ensuring all undertaken development work is accurate and clearly auditable.
• Carry out any other duties as may be requested from time to time.
• Development and Maintenance of next and currently supported applications.
• Design and analysis of future enhancements to our application software, including supplying technical feasibility assessments and work load estimates to Management.
• Implementation of enhancements to existing features.
• Implementation of new functionality.
• Implementation of bug fixes.
• Work within the current team in ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, Oracle/T-SQL, and all other supported operating systems and databases.
• Adherence to and review of existing coding practices in respect to current development guidelines.
• Implement and maintain quality controls to ensure ongoing maintenance of a centralised coding source repository.
