yo. im looking for a personal info manager/ reminder prog/ calendar and planner.
i know some of this can b done through ms outlook but is there anything else u guys would recommend? i must be able to veiw a calendar, put in reminders and tasks... and then be reminded of these tasks (with an alarm) wen the time is right

Outlook can do all of that, plus its bloody easy to use.

For a calendar Google Calendar is really nice - www.google.com/calendar ... although there is no to-do feature - yet
