Peter Blackmore joined ShoreTel in December 2010 as president and CEO to scale global operations and accelerate the company’s growth. He brings more than 30 years experience with technology companies worldwide to this role.
Previously Blackmore was president, CEO and a member of the board of directors of UTStarcom, Inc., a provider of Internet protocol-based network solutions, where he established the company’s growth strategy in China and India. Before UTStarcom, Blackmore was executive vice president in charge of worldwide sales, marketing and technology at Unisys Corporation. Prior to Unisys, Blackmore worked at Hewlett-Packard where he served as executive vice president of the Customer Solutions Group and, before that, of the Enterprise Systems Group. From 1991 until its acquisition by Hewlett-Packard in 2002, Blackmore served in several senior management positions at Compaq Computer Corporation reporting directly to the CEO, including senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing and then executive vice president for sales and service. Earlier Blackmore held senior field sales and channel management roles at Compaq in Europe and North America.
Blackmore serves on the board of MEMC Electronic Materials, Inc. and holds an M.A. in Economics from Trinity College, Cambridge, U.K. He is married with two children and lives in Northern California.
