Petition for D3 offline mode

Dont have the energy to keep discussing the security issue of Diablo 3 as you clearly hold Blizzard on an untouchable pedestal.
Clearly  Seems we have yet another psychic in our midst, able to tell me what I'm thinking. What arrogance, I never said Blizzards security is the bestest ever. If you actually comprehended what I said, its that everything has its flaws.

I'd be very interested to hear what you think makes TL2 better. Just as long as you dont tell me that one of them is assigning stat/skill points.

PS - SC2 also had an enormous wave of bad reviews, only due to no LAN. I suspect its the same here, with the mass of bad reviews coming from people moaning about always online. So to my mind, thats an epicly poor method of determining whether the game is good or not, the vast majority of user based bad reviews are only commenting on the online component really, not the actual gameplay.

Just on the last "point" you made that you and many others are enjoying the game so therefore it isn't a failure. I know it isn't a failure in the sense that it sold a lot of copies, and of course there are people who are playing it because it is a decent game. However it isn't near the quality that was expected and is expected from a company like Blizzard (and 12 years of development). In my personal opinion is that it isn't worthy of being called a squeal to diablo 2 (Just like to iterate that that is only my personal opinion).

How I know that it was received badly, and on an unprecedented level for any other previous Blizzard games, is from the mass complaints on the blizzard forums or any forum of that matter, user based rating sites such as metacritic (which is on a solid 4.0), and serious just by speaking with many people who have played the game.

If you want me to go into detail about the flaws of Diablo 3, that is for a different thread. My brother, who actually was a fan of diablo 3, but after playing it for a while then tried out Torchlight 2 wrote a well thought through explanation of what was lacking in diablo 3, how it removed many of the things that made the diablo franchise so great, and why Torchlight 2 did an excellent job at accommodation many of the good features of diablo 3 while staying true to the game. If anyone wants I could post it.

TL;DR: It is a okay game, but a serious drop of standards from a company who used to produce top quality games.

Ever since Activision took over, Blizzard seems to be more interested in profits first and good games second. D3 is an example - the always online component is only there because of DRM, Blizzard has to invent reasons to sell it to the gaming populace.

Back in the days, Blizzard made money because they made good games and supported them for years. Now they make games because it makes good money.

I dont begrudge a company its profits, I just dont like it when they abandon their previous ethics and standards in order to make them.

Archer, again you open your mouth and all people here is the sound of bees buzzing with no valuable information whatsoever. You say the DRM gives D3 bad reviews and you say this is an invalid reason for saying a game sucks. Ok well im sure the reviewers with tons more experience than you, must not have a clue then.

The fact it is always online makes it inherently flawed, with all the downtime all the lagg ETC ETC ETC. So no, your reasoning is flawed, as well as the game

If thats the only reason people have against it, then yes, thats a poor review from (I'll say it again slowly this time) user based reviews. Maybe next time instead of listening to those bees try and actually read what I said?

Haven't had any downtime or lag ETC ETC ETC. for a week now, hope it means all the teething problems gave been resolved.

If you don't like always online, you can simply wait for Torchlight 2 and go play that.

yep, and that is the direction Blizzard has decided to take, it is up to them. still support piracy, but if you legitamitely want to play Diablo 3, that is the direction that youre going to have to go. i'll wait for all the SC2s to come out before i make a decision about buying them

bbbbbbbbbbbbzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'll just add that I understand where Nicko is coming from but you are wrong on so many points. For the most part I agree with Archer

It's a pity for people who struggle with a stable internet connection, but unfortunately more and more games are tending to this direction. I don't really think you can say it's a crap game based on the fact that you don't have a good internet connection.

welcome to the new way of gaming. DRM is where its going, and has done for years. want a nice DLC patch, play online. want a chance to make REAL money? play online. (and no, I didnt say pay real money, I said MAKE real money)

sadly, this is blizzards fault. they decided to actually interact on their own forums with the players. and the godawful whining on blizz forums is unreal, due to people saying anything in hopes of getting a blue post. fortunately, its as with anything on the interwebz, only a tiny minority. dont like it, dont play it. simples :)

also, its blizzards fault sa interwebz is rubbish? or that there is 10000km of cable between us and them? how much money do you think they have made out of us saffas? 0.000001% ? more? less? some of you have never played an online game, thats quite obvious. server issues are natural, even banks, yes, banks have downtime. do you hear the world and his mother whining?? and I rate bank downtime sooooooo much worse than an effing pc game.

tl;dr, dont like it, too bad :)

as a pic on le interwebz says, dont tell people your problems, 20% dont care, the other 80% are happy you have them
