Hi Guys

This is my first post on the My Broadband forum...

i just want to know if anyone has upgraded their Peugeot while still under motor plan with Peugeot.

i have a 2012 308 gti (200 hp 1.6T same engine that's in the RCZ and DS4) and have been looking at upgrading Downpipes, Exhaust (tips on both sides just to balance the look of the rear of the car), Intercooler, Brakes and Software.

i still 5 years or 92000 km left of the motor plan. I will mainly be dealing with the Peugeot dealer in Fourways as they are closed to my work. this car is a daily driver and would prefer to keep it as reliable as possible.

thanks help the help in advance :)

You will more than likely void the warranty and the motor plan.

You will void your warranty, motorplan, and insurance cover if you're involved in an accident and they found out you modified your vehicle.

The car went in for the yearly service a week ago and i spoke with the manager of the service department. he mentioned that they will ignore the changes\upgrades, as long as they are not visible... i mentioned that i was looking at doing software, exhaust and downpipe, but i'm still not a 100% sure what "not visible" upgrades involve besides software and how trust worthy he's words are.

They will "ignore" them so long as nothing is wrong with the car.. the minute something goes wrong, your warranty will be void, motor plan will be cancelled etc etc etc...

Unless you tell your insurance about it. Guy in my office has (iirc) the 2nd fastest Polo TDi in the country (in a straight line), insurance premiums barely went up when he informed them of the mods.

It all boils down to your relationship with your dealer. Declare mods at insurance as well.

^^^ This, I'm afraid :(

There are plenty of "non visible" mods that you can do on a Subaru and the guys get caught out the minute the car is hooked up to a computer.

@OP - you simply have to decide whether chucking away your warranty and your service plan is actually worth it.
