Hi

I am running pfSense latest version and set up upnp from this site.

PF is running PPPoE and I am using a WISP for my interent.

I am getting the following error message in the upnp logs

miniupnpd83499private/reserved address ***.***.***.*** not suitable for external IP

where *** is the IP I receive from my WISP.

Any idea what this means?

Are you sure you should be using pppoe? Did they give you login details like username/password or just an external IP address?

You are likely being NATted by the WISP already and not getting a real public WAN address and hence the error.

Basically you are on a big LAN, not your own internet.

I think you’re correct. Is there anyway around this?
