Morning all :)

I'm upgrading my CPU and decided to go with the new Phenom II's since I have an AMD AM2 motherboard already.

Now that thats outta the way :) I have an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe which does support AM2+ but its not listed on the supported motherboads list for the new phenoms, first thing I did was google and apparently the latest bios and a cmos clear does allow the CPU to work but its just not recognised in the bios or windows. I also read a few cases where the bios update stops the sata 1 port from working but that's not a huge problem, the 1 problem I read was that a guy had my motherboard and got a Phenom II 940 but it ran like crud cause of the HT speed or something.

Does anyone maybe have a Phenom II 940 and my motherboard who'd like to share their experiences? :) I ask cause I'm not sure if I should just rather look at new motherboard that is fully supported or stick with what I have and hope it runs like it should :)

Thanks in advance

Everything out there indicates that it works. Update bios to 1701. Clear CMOS, Install new CPU.

Worse case scenario it does not work and you buy another MB anyway.
