Phenom X3 8450 3mb cache

as the title states.... Phenom X3 8450 3mb cache...my friend is getting himself a new CPU soon, this is his old 1. he said i could have it for R500, he bought it for R1200....

and note: im only using a AMD dual core 4200+

so what i want to know is, is it worth buying at that price? and is it still a good proccessor?

Is it compatible with your present mobo?

Then probably a nice upgrade. If your needing to buy a mobo too, then that phenon I aint that good, phenom II's are better.
