I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed much here :D

Anyway it's well documented in animals and insects, but I've done some reading and there seems to be relatively few scientific studies conducted with humans. Usually the results seem to be inconclusive anyway.

So do you guys think that pheromones play a part in our attraction to each other?

What about these pheromone products? Obviously a lot of them would be bogus, this being the internet, but there seems to be a few genuine products that people use and report positive results. I'm leaning towards it being the placebo effect, where a person's self confidence is boosted by using the product, and they get more favourable results with people as a result.

Thoughts?

It is a interesting topic but I do know very VERY little about it. I myself am visualy stimulated...as are most men. If pheromones plays a subconcious part in this would be interesting to find out.

I read somewhere that pubic hair plays a big part in pheromone distribution or something. SO DONT SHAVE IT GUYS! lol

The only way to know in all honesty is to buy a bottle and hit the clubs :D or just cruise around woolies, always fine specimens in there.

Most SA sex shops sell them http://www.matildas.co.za/sex-lubricants-lotions-potions/pheromones

Just know upfront it is more than likely a scam :p so you don't ripped.
I'm thinking of buying something from one the main manufacturers (who happen to be based in SA incidentally), to put it to the test and see what sort of effect it has.

Apparently this is the one that's used for sexual attraction based on what I've read. And since I'm usually the one who initiates sex with my gf, I figure it could be put to the test to see if it has her jumping at me :D

Go for it and let us know the results hey :D.

That is cheap i may even order a bottle and test it haha, worst thing that can happen is it won't work. What if you find all these fine ladies start dry humping your leg how will you cope? :p

That site looks very scamish to me.

Nah it's a legit site, if you google LaCroy then they're the suppliers for stores overseas. From what I can see they support bank transfers anyway so I don't have to give them my CC details.

That NPA thing apparently stinks so they reckon you shouldn't wear it neat, but dilute it in cologne.

I've done a few minutes of reading about it on a couple of overseas forums:
http://www.google.co.za/search?hl=en&q=site:love-scent.com+npa
http://www.google.co.za/search?hl=en&q=site:pheromonetalk.com+npa

Besides it's only 165 bucks so if it doesn't work then it's no big loss. But if I notice women licking me then I'm gonna buy more :D

there's a starting point...

Yeah that's basically what I said in the OP. There have not been many studies conducted with humans, and findings have so far been inconclusive.

But I'm willing to give it a shot in the name of science, over the period of a couple weeks, and post feedback here. Obviously it won't count for anything, but people will be able to at least start drawing their own conclusions.

Sex Panther: works 60% of the time- EVERY time!

Try eating celery apparently it helps produce a pheromone that makes women crazzzyyy...about you lol

Related.

Women (in my observation) have a more highly developed sense of smell than men – hence flowers, perfume, etc. It was discovered during the Crimean War (Florence Nightingale) that they made superior nurses. Technology was so primitive that diagnosis of illness could often be made by smelling the breath of victims.

The point is that a casual male sniff at armpits may not be sufficient to conceal BO before that hot date even if it smells OK to them (nothing that a spot of deodorant won’t cover-up).

Yeah you need to piss against a few trees, and maybe take a dump. Really get that scent out there :)

If possible take a dump and piss on the possibles to make sure they know what you smell like.

You may just get lucky and find some scat and golden shower lovers.

So mike you got the bottle yet?
