Does anyone have this system at their home?

Only place I seem to be able to find it is on Amazon, but the US version is 110v while the UK version is 230v, but a lot more expensive.

Looking at the following starter kit: https://goo.gl/gK7ycu

Any ideas?

Hi
I have the basic 220v system at home.
Bought it from takealot on a special.

You get them on Takealot.

But it's a silly system in my opinion and there are much better options.

Do you really need to turn your lights on and off with your phone?

I agree but if you want to dim the lights then it works well. It is also rock solid as far as reliability is concerned. It also does not require internet access to work

I am looking to do some things with the colour bulbs (movie room), what other systems do you have to recommend?

Xiaomi have some excellent and stand alone products that work well without a gateway.

For your purposes this comes to mind...

But other plain bulbs like these too and similar to the Hue stuff.

Down the line can also Smart Integrate them with Home Assistant.

I have the Bedside lamps for my kids and they turn on with sunset and also on various schedules change to specific colours etc.

Actually just ordered two more for our bedroom and the strips for behind my own TV units.

If and when my ceiling lights fail or I do any renovations will switch to those too.

Philips Hue seemed very expensive and very limited when I looked into that.

Thanks for recommending this, didn't know Xiaomi even offered smart bulbs.

Will rather get these than the philips hue when comparing the price of both.

Did you get the E26 bulb? I see the E27 is R50 more expensive.

Nah in my case I needed whole lamp setups that's why I opted for the Bedside units instead.

Have mostly downlighters everywhere I don't have ceiling fans so would only consider retrofitting into those but don't see the value really.

For bedside it's nice to have the adjustment between night light and reading light and normal yellow light etc.
