South African Revenue Service (SARS)
Dear Client,
We are pleased to inform you that we have carefully examined your Tax records and it is confirmed that you are eligible for a Tax Refund. To the value of R30, 000.00 (Thirty Thousand Rands) and you are required to submit to us your payment option which you know it's safe and secure for you to receive your refund. There are two options for receiving your individual income tax refund:
The fastest way is by direct deposit (electronic funds transfer) into your bank account. As a reminder and In an effort to combat fraud and identity theft, the SARS limits the number of direct deposits into a single financial account. your refund should only be directly deposited into account that is in your own name, your spouse’s name or both if it’s a joint account.
The second option is by paper cheque sent to your address. NOTE : Account transfer takes only 2 hours for your refund to reflect in your bank account, and Cheque payment takes 2 to 3 working days for the cheque to arrive at your destination.
For security reasons. Please note that SARS will never.
1. Call to demand immediate payment, nor will the agency call about taxes owed without first having mailed you a bill.
2. SARS will never demand that you pay taxes without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe.
3. SARS will never require you to use a specific payment method for your taxes or refund, such as a prepaid debit card or ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone.
4. SARS will never threaten to bring in local police or other law-enforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying tax earlier.
Please do not share this information with 3rd parties. Taxpayers who get these messages should quickly respond to this email in order for us to process their refund.
Refunds for electronically filed returns process within 21 days of the e-file acceptance date. Refunds from mailed paper returns process within six to eight weeks from the date the SARS receives it. Even though the SARS issues more than 9 out of 10 refunds in less than 21 days, incomplete or inaccurate tax returns may require further review and could take longer than the normal processing time.
