I just got a phone call from telkom informing me that my local cap has been reached (6 gigs over my alloted 10 gigs allowed) and that I need to be careful otherwise they can and will charge from next month onwards!!

So this month it seems is a grace month. Next month they will be stricter.
I did ask about the usage tracker. He said it should be accurate to within an hours usage.

i can't see how they can automatically change people. If I reach my cap am I supposed to switch my machines off. If they're on and they do AV/patch updates I will be auto charged?? Forget that!!

Telkom: Mindless company with penniless customers, run by the clueless

Amazing how Telkom can bother to phone you for this, yet it takes the same Dunce Cap Wearing Morons upwards of 45 mins to answer a call to them.

they are blaming ICASA (are not allowed to cap accounts) as an excuse for their actions.

ICASA intended local to be uncapped ie unlimited ie at a fixed rate.. but its so funny how telkom handed their a$$es right back to them! Regulate the regulator, ICASA is a joke
