Ok today i suddenly had this extremely strange problem. Was in the menu and the phone froze.
Did a battery pull and then to my Joy my phones locked me out completely, on the lock screen of all places.

Now booting was normal, but it got to the lock screen and things just went down hill from their, i can see the apps loading simply by the root permission prompts and the notification bar icons, but they are taking extremely long, took about 5 minutes for widget locker to finish loading. Now since widgetlocker replaces the stock lock screen their seems to be some miscommunication their. If i unlock widget locker instead of going to my home screen i am sent to stock lock screen which is not responding to touch so i am basically locked out of my lock screen.

Everything appears to be working, i plug in my headphones and my music starts playing as it should, if i turn off the screen it wont turn back on unless i connect it to a charge source, my recovery mode seems to be gone, i can select it, but it goes no further than the google logo and i have googled myself simple and cannot find the method to factory reset via adb yet i see references to the actual function all over, just not the command.

Does anyone know how i can master rest my nexus s in any method that does not require the ability to touch my screen or use the recovery mode.

Thanks

Have you tried holding down both BACK & HOME buttons then pressing POWER after battery pull? If that don't work, try VOLUME button + POWER after battery pull - best of luck...

Sorry, forgot to come back and tell you guys it randomly fixed itself. Was just lying there and then suddenly restarted and was working again.

@aldhat: Your first suggestion is for the nexus one only, and they are both ways of getting into recovery mode which as i mentioned did not work. I fixed that last night though. Recovery works again.
