So my wife thought she lost her phone a few months back and so I called and had the phone blacklisted. A few hours later she found the phone at her mothers and I had to then ge an affidavit to get it un blacklisted. Anyway she is on Vodacom so it was sorted, thing is I tried my MTN sim in the phone today and I get the message phone not allowed MM #6. Any help?

If you would like, PM me the phone number and the IMEI number of the phone that was blacklisted and I will have a peek on the system what it says there. I would like to see if it was unblacklisted on our system.

PM received thank you and this is the result:

System Used ITC
Status CLEAR
Reason RECOVERED
ITC Reference 09******
Transaction Date 2010-11-02

I am assuming that the phone works when you are using a Vodacom sim in the phone? If so, then I suspect that MTN have not updated their Blacklisted database and therefore their network is not allowing the phone back onto their network. You will need to then log a call with their customer care for them to somehow do this manually.

Just to be sure the phone is clear from Vodacom SP side...I checked on the warranty system also and this is the result:

IMEI Number 35*****************
Out of Box Talktime
Out of Box Talktime 282hrs 38min 25sec
Reason The IMEI Out of Box Usage Limit is outside the limit of the Manufacturer and Vodacom criteria, due to the following reason(s): The IMEI exceeds the 30 minutes as specified by the Manufacturer.
Result UNSUCCESSFUL
Out of Box Failure Day More than 7 days.

Your sim has probably just been cloned by an entire village in Nigeria.

Genius.

May not be connected though.

I also downloaded ios 6 like 4 times through ITunes and each time it failed to update the phone with an error message telling me my phone is not eligible.

Did the update untethered and it installed first time. To do that go:Settings > General > Software Update

ITunes on my Mac is latest version, so not sure what the problem was.

This problem of mm6 on bb is really annoying I bought a 2nd hand bb 9300 curve from a lady in jozi, used if for a week then one morning it just showed a message saying phone not allowed mm6_ then I was using my vodacom sim, so I removed it and inserted my cell c sim and it didn't show that mm6 message it actually showed what network am connected to and what bandwidth but when I try to call it showed a message saying " supplementary general error" or at times it says no service currently available. Am stuck and I really need help, though by now I know that it has been blacklisted. Here's my imei 352632.05.212450.4

So I recently bought a phone from overseas (US), something of a Black Friday special, but when I try use it I get the same phone not allowed error. Does this mean the phone is blacklisted? :wtf: I know this thread is old but if Ockie is still around would he be able to check for me?
