"Phone not allowed MM6"

My domestic engineer brought me a phone (8520) that she recently bought which is giving an error "Phone not allowed MM6".

From reading online it appears that the phone is either network locked or blacklisted.

Anyone have this issue before or are my suspicions that she's bought a stolen phone correct?

Cell C card works on it so guess it's not blacklisted. Phew.

might just be blacklisted on the other networks,just not cell C

The device is Black Listed

It wont be long before it blocks on Cellc as well. Sometimes it picks up on one network and slowly stops working on a different one too. Have had it before with a 8520 I bought too.

Like the others said. It's blacklisted. It just takes longer for Cell C to block the phone.
