Hi guys,

My Samsung Galaxy S7 is still using data even though I have switched wifi and mobile data off. See screenshot below...

According to the whatsmyip website my isp is mtn which means my phone is using 3G/4G even though it's off???

Any ideas as to why this happens and how to switch data off without having to use airplane mode as I still want to be able to receive calls?

did you turn off both LTE and mobile data (my sony has 2 optoons....)

pull down the drop down menu from the top of your screen. IE same place where you find short cut menu for wifi, airplane mode etc.

Yep, both are switched off...

Do you have WiFi enabled, and who's your WiFi provider as your ISP is listed as MTN Business Solutions, which is not (AFAIK) the cellular MTN ISP

Some of these apps will turn wifi and data on (if they are off) to do the test and then return it to its original state (off if it was off) when test is done.

How do I check which apps these are? Have to check permissions of each and every app?

Normally in the settings of the app. I just installed it and it doesn't seem to have those settings.

If you are running Lollipop the check that turned data off completely. Turn off Data connection. There must be nothing above the SIM icon and Data Connection should be grey.
