Phone upgrade

Howzit,

My other half is upgrading soon and wasn't sure what to upgrade to.

I am currently using an HTC Sensation, and she loves it. She also looked at the SGS2, cause it comes in pink.

On a side note she comes from using a Blackberry, and lets stick to vodacom deals.

If she gets any android phone, I suggest she gets something with a data bundle. She doesnt have wifi at work so its going to be a problem.

I only see deals on vodacoms website that get only 3 month data bundles included.

So my question is, are there any deals with a full contract length data bundle? if so, point it out, if not what would you consider?

Vodacom offers the Smart packages with the Galaxy S2.

You get : 120 mins talktime, 250MB/500MB data (think it's 500MB now) and 100 sms.

Not sure how much it costs nowadays, best is to phone your local Vodashop.

Very good package to have with any smartphone.
 
Just to add in here, this is an absolutely ridiculous state of affairs. How Vodacom can sell smartphone contracts that only include data for the first three months is completely beyond comprehension. Are there any other cellular networks in the world that sell such ridiculous "deals"?

As far as I can tell, this is the only "real" (i.e. includes data) smartphone contract that Vodacom sells. It's expensive though; R450 per month.

I think they offer the data for the first three months, to allow you to download and install your old apps + give the phone a spin on the net.

Yes, Vulk, got the right one!

I had the Smart 120s with my iPhone 3G and really happy with it.

Your data and minutes roll over as well, data for 2 months and minutes for six months.

Yes & no.

It's a bloody nuisance to buy a data bundle every month, especially if you're a bit late and your other half have already downloaded some email = out of bundle rates. :(

It's a great package, cos you can budget for R450 and it's not likely that she'll go over her mintues, sms or data.

It is even cheaper to only buy a data bundle every second month.

Its a whole lot easier to bolt on date at vodacom web site now . was a night mare before
